“October is a busy month” of interesting alignments! A lunar eclipse on October 8 is conjoined by Uranus and the south node, which are obvious “indicators that we need to break from the past and move” forward with new ways of being and doing in the world. This dramatic eclipse in Aries is an awakening, and inspires new beginnings! Adding with the Uranian energies, the admonition is magnified: “to break our habits and patterns, embrace change, and release old, stagnant situations”. Pluto squares this eclipse, highlighting the bold-faced, underlined message: “LET GO OF THE OLD AND TRANSFORM”! Be mindful of “judgmental, restrictive, or fearful thoughts or reactions, and TRY to replace these with a more open-minded, fluid, and accepting state of mind”. “Trust that all is happening as it should be” — RELAX and enjoy life! The Sun and Venus in Libra during the eclipse, softens the way and points out the path toward beauty and harmony. So choose to “align with these values”. “Release ALL that is harsh and ugly”, in situations and surroundings this month, and “feng shui” your life! Release what you no longer find useful. Align yourselves in “more beautiful environments with gentle people”. “Venus-Sun conjunction in Libra” brings us opportunities “to move into a more harmonious, high-vibrational way of living”, and helps us reduce the need to “rush, achieve, struggle or strain”. “Mercury turns retrograde on October 5, signaling” us to go with flow, to rethink plans or ideas — maybe “a project or piece of work”. Mercury is retrograde in Scorpio only a few days before heading back in Libra. For Librans, this important month calls for “a time-out — to reassess where they are going before” choosing or deciding a destination or purpose. Mars moving into Capricorn affects Rams (Aries), who find this an important time for personal freedom, “breaking with the past, and resolving relationship issues”. Capricorns are likely to see positive “changes in domestic situations and professional lives”. “EMBRACE CHANGES AND WELCOME REBIRTHS”! Trust WHAT IS unfolding — to be as it should be. A solar eclipse on October 24 in Scorpio is about “change in destiny, in which doors open and close”; so what opens for us then, probably can’t be avoided. The eclipse is joined by Venus; so “the changes should” largely be “AUSPICIOUS”! “This is a great time for beautiful, new beginnings, wiping the slate clean, and starting out in a new way.” This eclipse could be “MAGICAL, if we focus on love, beauty, and harmony”. Illusions can be washed away, while some “experience a rebirth”. Some may have an awakening and a rebirth! “Scorpios are especially likely to experience” a shift “on an inner level” leading to new beginnings. For EVERYONE the potential will be evident for positive, new situations to emerge. The GIFT of this beautiful month of October is the strong message: RELEASE the outworn past, and “EMBRACE the positive, revitalizing changes” that will renew our hearts and minds “as we step onto the path that is right for us now”. “DON’T HOLD ON is the message for this month, and wherever the universe seems to be taking us is exactly where we’re meant to be heading”. TRUST THE UNIVERSE! Namaste, dear ones! *******************************************

Who will you vote for in the IL governor’s race and why?
I’m voting for Pat Quinn because he’s a Democrat; and Yes, the Democrats ARE the stalwarts for the middle class. Democratic values and unions have brought us a long way from the Robber Barons of the past century. Fair labor standards, safety measures and the eight-hour workday, vacation time, pensions, and access to decent health care for the masses were all contributions to society from forward-leaning Dems. We stand for liberty and justice for everyone, fairness in voting procedures, wages people can live on, better education, help for the poor and the elderly, and respectful treatment for our veterans! Unemployment in Illinois is at a six-year low under Quinn. I’m a retired working stiff. The goal of Republicans is to keep the nation’s wealth for the wealthy. Rauner is a billionaire vulture-capitalist, who is for out-sourcing whatever American jobs still exist. He has lauded Scott Walker as his idol. He’s against unions, raising the minimum wage, and expanding Medicaid. He’s for privatizing Social Security and agencies like the Dept. of Motor Vehicles, (as Missouri did; then the focus isn’t on services, but profit margins). My president, Barack Obama, endorses Pat Quinn, as does IL State Senator Dick Durbin, and former president Bill Clinton, and so do I.
