April 2015 Predictions: Celebrate the changing consciousness!
April brings good news: As Pluto-Uranus squares part company life will gradually begin to calm down somewhat, especially for the cardinal signs of Aries, Cancer, Libra and Capricorn. Volatile Uranus and Pluto have succeeded in waking people up to see how things need to change, and although we’re still in the dismantling stage things cannot go back to how they were! The old power structures are crumbling and rebellion and mass awakening has begun and will continue to occur. “Expect the unexpected” from a tense Full Moon on 4/4, and know the chaos that ensues is further evidence of the old ways breaking up so that wonderful new opportunities can begin to unfold. So, we need to release and let go of our rigidity and limiting thought forms and embrace the new and vibrant energies. The Sun in Aries aligns with Uranus and Mercury creating the perfect soil for fresh and radical new ideas to grow with optimism. Apply this to your own experience and see how you might allow things to be different. Be brave, bold and courageous when it comes to doing the right thing. A New Moon in Aries, in wide conjunction to Uranus, occurs on 4/18 and encourages new beginnings and new ideas. This is an auspicious time to focus on new beginnings and new projects! “We can let go of the past and turn our attention fully toward the here and now! As the month progresses and the planets move from Aries to Taurus we can begin to ground our new ideas into reality and begin to make them grow. ” Taurus reminds us to slow down, work steadily and methodically, one step at a time, to accomplish our tasks and arrive at our goals. Although “the task ahead might seem daunting…..each new signature on a petition opposing fracking, each new informed person voting with awareness, and each person creating their own small vegetable patch is a measurable step toward a bright new world. April reminds us not to give up hope; the change IS happening!” Celebrate the changing consciousness!

Should the city council spend $115,000 on the Boys & Girls Club of Knox Co to be used as a temp community center?
The original plan when our community center was “done away with” was to use the B&G Club as a temporary community center? I never heard that! Why a 5 year plan? How long would it take to renovate the Armory? And where does the City anticipate getting AT LEAST $500,000 for asbestos removal and renovation? I think this plan is smoke and mirrors, and the City is not going to make good on its word to give us back a community center, which I would like to see — downtown, with plenty of parking! I rented the community center twice, at about $50, and it wasn’t easy to get a 2 – 3 hour slot near the date that you wanted. A lot of people used that center to host events. The B&G Club is housed at Carver Center, which is owned by Carver Community Action Agency. If the City wants to give the B&G Club some money why not just contribute without “the agreement”? Give them $50,000 and let them find other funding. And since Rauner slashed funding for Handi-van, is Galesburg going to pay for those services? And what other necessary services will be cut in the future?
