My opinion of Barack Obama’s decision to break recent tradition by criticizing his successor President Trump

Most of us are experiencing collective emotional-overwhelm; many millions felt buoyed by the words of Barack Obama as he challenged president Trump for “pressuring the justice department” to avenge his perceived enemies.  “This political moment required a pushback”, Obama decried, “Appealing to tribe, appealing to fear, pitting one group against another, telling people that order and security would be restored if it weren’t  for those who don’t look like us, or sound like us, or don’t pray like we do — that’s the old playbook!  Our anti-bodies kick-in and people of goodwill across the political spectrum call-out the bigots and fear-mongers, and work to compromise, to get things done, and promote the better angels of our nation.  Just a glance at recent headlines should tell you that this moment really is different, the stakes really are higher.  The consequences of any of us sitting on the sidelines are more dire.  This is NOT normal!”
