March began in Mercury retrograde, which turned direct on March 10th; there was a full moon on March 9th, urging more compassion and tolerance than a full moon usually evokes.  The Sun is aligned with Neptune in Pisces offering us the occasions to rise above tensions, despite possible “delayed train journeys or cancelled flights ….. computers or internets going down”,  might give us choices to do other things more nourishing to our souls.  Americans are not used to “going slow or being patient when things go wrong”.  We can try to view the delays and glitches in a more tolerant manner, possibly even as chances for personal growth, as we can do little else.   The Sun enters Aries on March 20th, which brings a somewhat lighter, more positive feeling.   “Mercury moves into a helpful alignment with Uranus …. inspiration and innovation are keywords here…. ideal for downloading insights.”

communication come together to facilitate more in-depth, intimate, and authentic ways of interacting with others — your associates, business partners, friends, family members, spouses or lovers.”  Fulfilling these desires “will require both inner and outer changes, and will require deeper comprehension of alternatives, greater options and possibilities” rather than polarizing extremes.  We are “destined to discover alternative choices and multi-optioned ways of seeing and perceiving through connection to the soul-heart within.  Without this integration in all interactions and relationships, January begins with several planets in Capricorn, which Jupiter joins, urging a growing sense of responsibility, but Jupiter’s energies don’t express well in the staid sign of Capricorn.  “Jupiter tends to be strong in the sign of dictators, Hitler being one example”, according to French statistician Michael Gauquelin; “power-hungry leaders intent on controlling the masses to capitalize on the plight of the planet so as to further restrict people’s rights, movements and freedoms”.  Check out: Agenda 21.  Power players want to “dramatically reduce the global population in the name of sustainability”.  “We need to balance care and responsibility for the environment with people’s rights.”  Saturn’s conjunction with Pluto  begins to peak, on Jan 12th,  breaking the oppressive alignment that’s been in effect for a couple of years now.  This signals a “beginning of the end of the old order and darkness, however Saturn and Pluto could also leave us with the dark legacy of whatever has been implemented during the previous months and years”.

Mercury will be retrograding through the sign of Scorpio from Nov 1st through Nov 20th, “a deep and intense journey”, bringing us to ‘face-up’ to confrontations with our own psyche’s shadow aspects; our work toward wholeness will be in “figuring out how to integrate them”; if not integrated fully, “we’re likely to find our dark-selves mirrored back via other people”, and we will spend our days angry and upset “as ‘THEY’ reflect “some aspects of our unconscious behavior”.  We can expect to detect and unearth hidden aspects, and “much depends on where in our chart Mercury travels”.  Electrical and communications tend to go  somewhat awry during a Mercury retrograde, at which time we need to be more mindful of slowing down, getting out in nature, and reflecting on where we choose to expend our energies.  We can connect with our inner selves through “creative activities such as painting, singing, writing, journaling and poetry  …. to harmonize with Mercurial energy”.  Meditation and yoga are great therapies for balancing our ‘interior landscapes’.  Dream analysis and quiet contemplation are useful tools for expressing what’s going on at deeper levels, and can bring us to a more enlightened space.  Ask of your higher self “an important question before going to sleep”, state your intention to remember your dreams, seeking to unravel the important messages from your psyche; “write a story about your dream” or create a storyboard or a mandala; this may be useful in unearthing nuggets of buried treasure.

danger of becoming embroiled in power struggles, excesses and extremes.”  We may push too hard, annoying others.  “The best use of these two planets in conflict is to stand up for what we believe in, pursue an ambition that feels healthy and right for us, and push or test ourselves without venturing into dangerous territory.  This is a ruthless, violent combination, so we must take care that our words and actions don’t lack compassion.  Those born under the signs of Libra, Capricorn, Aries or Scorpio particularly need to heed this warning.”  We can help ourselves by meditating on the aspects of ourselves that these power struggles reveal to us.

The Sun and Moon moving into Libra, brings opportunities to create harmony and cooperation, even among the world’s challenges.   The Sun squares Saturn early in the month, and we may feel restricted by others’ oppressive ideas, but we will be more effective in finding common ground if we use diplomacy and a respectful stance.   We can oftentimes soften discord with a more gallant posture.  “Karmic elements might be related to events this month … so if an old pattern emerges or something seems unfair, maybe our past actions are returning to be balanced.  These feelings might persist through the full moon on October 13 as Saturn once again squares the Sun and Moon, potentially bringing us face-to-face with the consequences of our thoughts, choices, and actions.  The good side of the full moon is that whatever has been building and brewing can come to a head and be resolved.”
