CPAC was like the far-right, ‘Jonestown’, Insurrectionist Afterparty, complete with a golden calf or ass, in the visage of Donald Trump, with worshippers bowing & praying to it. In spite of all Trump’s criminal activities & sinful behaviors, as The Donald took the podium last Sunday at the CULT 45 gathering, the idolaters loudly & repeatedly chanted, “We love you”. It was a gross display of ‘sickofancy’! The deification of Trumpism is so absurd, farcical, inconceivable, even in today’s Twilight-Zone of alternate realities! The loudest, looniest losers lined-up to lend their trumped-up testimonies. Donnie Jr. looked his usual coked-up self; his girlfriend ‘Guff-foil’ in tow; and several speakers recited they “know Trump is the Real, Legitimate & Truly-Actual President” of the U.S. Cancun-Cruz & “Nazi-Hawley”, who both voted against accepting the states’ certified Electoral votes on 1/6/21, performed on the CPAC stage in all their self-delusional glory. Demographically, the lemmings are racing over the cliffs at the crossroads of decency & common-sense. I only saw the clips shown on MSNBC, as I would never watch Fox Lies Network.

It’s highly-disturbing that Mitch McConnell, the day after he voted for Trump’s acquittal, stood in the Senate, pointedly excoriating him for the Jan 6 attack on the Capitol. Then McConnell was asked recently if he would support Trump if he were the GOP presidential nominee for 2024, he said “YES, I would”. WHAT?! QAnon conspiracy-theorists NOW declare that Trump will be re-inaugurated this month! How can anyone make sense of this ludicrous phenomena? What could possibly explain this continued state of delusion & denial?

MAGA, QAnon, evangelicals, militia-misfits & white-nationalists form the base of this new GOP, which is falling-in-step with the far-right deniers; they all seek to minimize the actions of the Insurrectionists, and to assign blame to groups or individuals other than Trump-supporters. FBI Director Wray testified on March 2, before the Senate on what his agency is discovering in the countless arrests occurring. America is on high-alert, new threats from domestic-terrorists have been reported; they intend to bomb the Capitol, killing as many Congress-members as possible. Security is escalating in D.C. It’s like vengeful, oppositional-Deplorables run-amok! The more we seek to hold malevolent-evildoers accountable, the more they proliferate. Deplorables consist of: traitors, seditionists, murderers, rapists, kidnappers, bombers, arsonists, abusers, robbers, swindlers, etc. America needs denazification to de-platform Nazis & deprogram other anti-govt terrorists in America. Read Exodus 32; things didn’t go well for the infidels, many perished. God was extremely wroth about their idol-worship!

For those who followed my responses to the Register-Mail Roundtable over the past few years, I just wanted you to know why I’m no longer featured there.  I was informed recently that I was being rotated off the Roundtable to make space for new voices.  My last response was on Oct 2nd, with my opinion of Amy Coney Barrett’s nomination to SCOTUS, which I’m guessing really pushed someone’s buttons.  I have since noticed that Gruner, Urban & Bulkeley still remain, though I believe all three were on the Roundtable when I first came to it.  I did more than simply opine there; I researched topics & tried to give real-world facts & background information in my mere 150-word Roundtable limit.  I almost never missed a week’s ‘assignment’, no matter what was happening in my life.  I’ve also written a near-weekly, 400-word Letter to the Editors, as some of my fellow ‘passionate, concerned, constant’ contributors do, during this contentious, crucial time in our nation’s history.  I hope to continue to be published in that forum & share my political commentary.

Many have dropped their subscriptions in recent years, as we’ve seen big price increases for our local paper; and that is one reason why I publish my blog writings: political, astrological, sociological — to Facebook, to share with a larger audience …. to bring food for thought.  I’ve had people I didn’t know, around town, recognize me, stop me and tell me they enjoyed reading my Register-Mail responses; and I thank you all for your kind words, interest and respect for diverse ideas, whether or not you agreed with me.  Most of us are very concerned about our upcoming election; the elections are about our future, and our progenies’ future. It behooves us to do our research on the candidates on our ballots, weigh the facts carefully, and VOTE as if all we care deeply about matters.  If 2020 has shown us anything, we can see that what we took for granted in life, our health, our jobs, our schooling, our homes, our loved loves, attending weddings, funerals, birthday parties, spending time with our friends …. all of it, can quickly be cast asunder.   Keep in mind …. ELECTIONS HAVE CONSEQUENCES!    Get out EARLY & VOTE!   VOTE for sane, compassionate leadership, for draining the corrupt SWAMP, for respecting Science, for instituting necessary reforms, for restoring relationships with our allies, and respect in the world, for BUILDING BACK BETTER!   And EVERYONE …. try to stay safe & keep others safe until we can hopefully, all, see better times.

The Guardian online news source warns:  “America faces an epic choice — in the coming months, and the results will define the country for a generation.  These are perilous times; much of what the Guardian holds dear has been threatened — democracy, civility, truth.  Our country is at a crossroads.  Science is in a battle with conjecture & instinct to determine policy in the middle of a pandemic.  At the same time, the U.S. is reckoning with centuries of racial injustice — as the White House stokes division along racial lines.  At a time like this, an independent news organization that fights for truth and holds power to account is not just optional .  It is essential.  The Guardian believes in equal access to fact-based news & analysis …. free for all readers.”  They rely on contributions.  I appreciate online news that I can access & check out articles on without having to subscribe to, free to those who can’t afford subscriptions.  Please consider sending a small contribution to The Guardian online.

I would also urge readers to contribute to Vox.com, another free online-journalistic magazine, which makes their excellent explanatory-journalism available to all.  This information is vital for a functioning democracy; we need the real facts and good journalists to bring their reporting to us.

Trump tweeted on 7/30: “With Universal Mail-in Voting (not absentee voting, which is good), 2020 will be the most INACCURATE & FRAUDULENT Election in history.  It will be a great embarrassment to the USA.  Delay the election until people can properly, securely and safely vote ???”  What the Heck?!  Former Republican, Steve Schmidt’s Twitter response in 6 parts:  “Fascism. Authoritarianism.  The question has always been, could it happen here?  It is happening here.  It is happening right now.  Trump crossed the rubicon this morning.  For the first time in American History a president of the U.S. has talked about stopping a Presidential election.  He is probing and testing the reaction to see what he can get away with.  We have voted in this country for 244 uninterrupted years, through World Wars, Depression, Civil War, Assassinations & civil unrest.  In America, we vote.  Voting is a sacred inheritance.  It has been secured with the blood of American patriots from the killing fields of Lexington, Yorktown, Gettysburg & Normandy.  It has been expanded with the sacrifice of men like John Lewis, the courage of Rosa Parks, and the martyrdom of Dr. King.  Stopping an election ends the American experiment.  Trump is losing and he knows it.  He is grasping for power like any dime-store Mussolini would.  The thing is, this is America, not Trumpistan.  We will vote.  This morning we received the worst economic news in American History.  US GDP collapsed by 33%.  The first wave of evictions & foreclosures will come this fall.  It will dwarf the catastrophe of the Great Recession.  Trump has wrecked this country and it will take many years to recover from his lethal stupidity & incompetence.  He must not be allowed to wreck American liberty and kill American Democracy.  We are the oldest Constitutional Republic in the world.  We will vote.  We are Americans!”

John Lewis’ inspiring last words, his marching orders & benediction was printed by NYT  7/30: “Together, you can redeem the soul of our nation, by building union, voting & participating in the democratic process.  When historians pick up their pens to write the story of the 21st century, Let them say it was your generation who laid down the heavy burdens of hate, and that peace finally triumphed over violence, aggression & war.  So I say to you, walk with the wind, brothers & sisters, and Let the spirit of peace & the power of everlasting love be your guide.”

I apologize for urging several days ago  (in an addendum to my recent Letter to the Editor)  for protesters to please go home.  I was speaking as a mother &  a grandmother, just worrying for the lives & safety of all those out there, especially as race-agitators infiltrated the protesters to further their own hateful-agendas, causing damages that I knew the protesters would be blamed for.   But I was wrong, and am heartened by the courage & determination of the hundreds of thousands of persons, multi-racial, joining in mainly peaceful protests, gatherings & even celebrations of faith, hope, grief & mourning.  We cannot let police units, National Guard units, prison guard units, the U.S. military called out against us, citizens, to keep us down, keep us quiet, small & scared, to silence our voices, our pleas, our protestations of further brutality & violence against innocent Americans.  We must persevere & overcome!  We must push against the systems, press for our demands for criminal justice reforms, to speak-out for equal opportunities & equal protections & justice under the law.  That is how we bring the change!  What is a life worth?   OUR LIVES MATTER!  We need more self-responsibility, less abortion; STOP sexually-assaulting & molesting females.  STOP protecting rich sexual-assaulters & human-traffickers!  We need more protections for women & children!  We need better education & universal healthcare!  We need to stop sending our progeny off to unnecessary wars, to fight & die to protect resources for the wealthy; no more BLOOD FOR OIL WARS!  STOP BRUTALIZING POOR PEOPLE, BLACK PEOPLE, BROWN PEOPLE, RED PEOPLE, YELLOW PEOPLE, WHITE PEOPLE!   WE ARE THE BEST RACE, THE HUMAN RACE!    We must stand up for ourselves, for each other, for our freedoms laid out in our Constitution & Bill of Rights!  We must claim & protect those rights!  “Get your knee up off our necks!”  We are in a season of Revolution & Ascension energies …. a time of endings and new beginnings.  This is the time for us to take our country back  from the corrupt traitors, holding us hostage for their huge tax scams, stock scams, corporate gains & Wars!  WE MUST BE THE CHANGE THAT WE WANT TO SEE IN THE WORLD!  IT STARTS WITH US!   We must all register to VOTE, encourage our offspring, neighbors & friends to VOTE; then we must VOTE this fall for those who would restore & rebuild Democracy, to enhance it, making America live up to its ideals.  We must VOTE, as if our lives depended on it, because many, many lives do depend on it.  All citizens need Full-rights!  America is NOT a police-state!  It must again be the Beacon of Hope to immigrants.  We must FREE the kids in cages!  WE MUST PROTECT OUR CHILDREN; PROTECT OUR DREAMERS!  WE MUST STAND TOGETHER!   ALL THE WORLD IS WATCHING US!

Far-Right militia groups, anarchists & white supremacists have infiltrated the ‘legitimate protesters of police killings’ in order to hijack the righteous outrage & frustrations …. to serve their own twisted-agenda of furthering the confrontations between the police & blacks (& liberal groups), in the provocateur’s calls for ‘Boogaloo’ or the second Civil War, they are hoping to incite.  This will be the subject of my next Letter to the Editor.  To read more on this subject Google:  NBC News story by Brandy Zadrozny, 2/19/20:  “What is the Boogaloo; how online calls for a violent uprising are hitting the mainstream”.  In light of this revelation, the recent vandalization of CNN Headquarters in Atlanta, GA, now makes more sense to me.  It was vandalized by protesters, but which ones?   Who has a beef with CNN, who constantly calls them “Fake News”?    Today, President Trump has called for meeting violence with violence, stoking the flames, and convoluting his message with saying that, “MAGA people love blacks, and love their country”.   HELP!  We need Reverend AL & other black leaders NOW to speak with folks and quell the rioting & violence.  There are many actors in today’s passion-play.  Me personally, I’m with you in spirit, but I’m asking you all:  Please, GO HOME!  Don’t play into the hands and plans for more evil-doing!    DON’T BURN OUR COUNTRY DOWN!    EVERYONE, STOP INCITING VIOLENCE!     Let’s find higher ways to achieve our goals.      VOTE BLUE for Criminal Justice Reforms!   Together, WE CAN FIGHT FOR CHANGE!

What hope is there for us as a nation?  We seem hopelessly fractured!  As more and more news comes out about how Russia compromised our election processes, and on the shady cast of characters involved in the Trump election team and their tricky Russian connections — how deeply entrenched many have been in disreputable deeds, money-laundering and spy games — the right-wingers hold ever more closely to their delusions, lies and fake news.  Republicans keep chanting, “There is no evidence!”  I hear very few Trump-voters express any “buyer’s remorse”, even though Trump plainly lied about nearly everything he “planned” to save and make better for us, even as he has striven to implement his most racist, regressive programs. The wing-nuts keep inanely blaming Obama, Hillary, Pelosi, all democrats for everything!  I understand the tactic; I don’t understand why this tactic works so well, with so many.  These alternate facts are just that — an alternate reality CHOSEN by thirty-some percent of an unwary electorate.  As some Americans plead for compromise and consensus, WE the left-wingers stand in resistance to this crazy circus show of convoluted clowns, absurd acrobats, miasmic mirrors, and polluted punch!  Stop drinking the punch!  As Republicans strive to pass Wealth-care, a uge tax-cut for the richest in our nation, while cutting away access to healthcare for millions of Americans, men, women, children, poor, disabled, the elderly, WE stand aghast and say, “No, we’re NOT colluding on this issue!”  We’re NOT giving them the opportunity to say, “The Dems were in this with us!”  As this travesty goes forward, don’t continue to be in accord with what’s wrong with America!  This situation is ludicrous!  We want to welcome you back to our dinner tables, to our get-togethers.   There is much that is knowable!  Open your eyes!  Stop listening to Fox network – GOP propaganda – Fake News!  As good journalists revealed the actions of “All The President’s Men”, prior to the forced resignation of R.M. Nixon, good journalists are now reporting on MSNBC about what is already known, and as this Russian investigation continues and more is revealed — my hope is that the veil will be lifted from your eyes and you will choose country over party and agree that those who work against our country — must go down!  This is what every American soldier who has ever fought in any war we’ve ever waged — has fought against — those who would destabilize or destroy our democracy!                   Trish Forsyth Voss
