My blogsite recently went from ‘the stone age’ so to speak, to the 21st century, and is so advanced from what I had previously, that I am trying hard to figure out how navigate even what should be the simplest functions, like margins, so I’m ‘publishing’ this to see how it appears, so I can reconfigure my March 2021 Predictions blog and get it to appear as I’m accustomed to. “A Dream Girl” was an early poem written by Carl Sandburg, and published later in his book : “Chicago Poems” (1916); a longing expressed to find his dream girl. “The Poet and the Dream Girl, The Love Letters of Lilian Steichen and Carl Sandburg”, edited by their eldest daughter, Margaret Sandburg, is a compilation of the letters and poetry that were written between the two, in the first six months of 1908, during their budding, long-distance courtship; they married in June of that year. They met in Wisconsin, 1907, while Lilian was on Christmas break from her teaching job in Princeton, Illinois. Carl, going by Charles then, arrived in Milwaukee, straight from his lecture circuit, for a meeting with Carl D. Thompson, the state organizer for the Social-Democratic Party. Sandburg was there to become a member and an organizer for the party, having been intrigued & seduced by the Social-Democratic movement. He wrote, “I had never made a socialist speech, though I had read classics of socialism by Marx, Engels, Liebknecht, and had read for six months ‘The Worker’, the leading journal of the socialist party of New York, and the Social Democratic Herald, weekly organ of the Wisconsin socialists”. In addition to organizing in the Lake Shore and Fox River Valley district, he wrote a weekly report on activities, printed in the Social Democratic Herald. On his second visit to Brisbane Hall in December 1907, he met Lilian Steichen, who had stopped to visit with her dear friends on her way back to Illinois. Carl asked if he might write to her, and she, knowing how badly they needed organizers wanted to encourage “a comrade in the movement”, and so the letters began. Though working long hours, Carl continued writing poetry & prose, and wrote “Labor and Politics”, an article published by the Social-Democratic Press, and distributed at meetings. Carl wrote to Lilian, and she responded on 1/7/1908. (Some beginning letters were lost, but most of the original letters resided in the Rare Book Room of The University of Illinois, at Champaign-Urbana.)
The correspondence in “The Poet and the Dream Girl”, trace the poetic and passionate sentiments, ideals, and growing commitment to their shared zeal for socialism, art and literature. The letters demonstrate the mutual admiration of two sound, growing minds, embracing their shared world. Carl wrote Lilian, “The coincidences of our ideas and plans and whims is something I would not have believed till — Wonder Woman came”. Lilian had attended an academy in Chatham, Ontario, and a year at University of Illinois, transferring in fall of 1901, to the University of Chicago, graduating December 1903, with a bachelor of philosophy (Phi Beta Kappa), and with honors in Latin and English. In 1904, she had various jobs of translating from Latin and German. In September 1904, she took a teaching position in Valley City, North Dakota, for two years, before moving to Princeton, IL, in 1906, to teach high school, ‘Literature and Expression’. Lilian and Carl each had “a mind at work”, and the letters show their growing esteem for each other. Their second meeting was on March 27, 1908, when Carl visited the Steichen farm in Menomonee Falls, Wisconsin, the weekend of Lilian’s brother, Edward Jean Steichen’s birthday; Edward already becoming a famed photographer. Carl and Lilian’s second meeting sealed their bond, he proposed, she accepted. They met, for only the third time in Chicago, in May 1908, before their June wedding; then they moved to Milwaukee. Lilian encouraged him to continue writing poetry, and to go by his given name, Carl, and he nicknamed her Paula.
Carl August Sandburg, born 1/6/1878, in Galesburg, IL, the second of 7 children, born to Swedish immigrants, his family called him, Charlie; he delivered papers, then milk, worked as a janitor, bricklayer, porter, shined shoes in Galesburg’s Union Hotel. He threshed wheat in Kansas, before traveling briefly as a hobo. He volunteered in 1898 for service during the Spanish-American war, was stationed in Puerto Rico. He returned to ‘the Burg’, attended Lombard College, joined the Poor Writers club. Lombard professor, Phillip Green Wright, a scholar & political liberal encouraged the talented young Sandburg to continue writing. Sandburg saw first-hand the contrasts between the rich and the poor, instilling in him a distrust of capitalism; his writing and political views were greatly impacted by his experiences working & traveling. He was influenced by the muckrakers, reform-minded journalists of his day, and the hard living conditions of the masses, in the days before child labor laws, when young children worked in unsafe factories for ten hours daily, seven days a week. He worked in Chicago, as an editor and lecturer, before joining the Socialist movement. He was a prolific-author, poet laureate, journalist, historian, biographer, folklorist, folk-singer, wrote children’s stories; he won two Pulitzer prizes for his poetry and another Pulitzer for his five-volume biography of Abraham Lincoln. Carl was invited to the White House under four different presidents, beginning with FDR. Sandburg was a statesman, but foremost he was a Thinker, a Dreamer, and a Lover of humanity.
Carl, Lilian and their three daughters, Margaret, Janet and Helga (also an author) moved to Flat Rock, North Carolina, in 1945, with their small herd of prize-winning goats; that delightful residence open for tours. Lilian, being the intellect she was, later gained world-renown as a leading expert in goat-breeding. Carl died 7/22/1967, in Flat Rock, NC, but he and Lilian’s ashes lie beneath Remembrance Rock, at East 3rd St, Galesburg, IL. Lilian, born 5/1/1883, in Hancock, MI, of Luxembourgian descent, passed 2/18/1977. They were born into a much different time than today; social standards have risen dramatically, much has changed in our world. Two beautiful souls found each other, and the world was made better by their love, their ideas, their work, and their offspring. They made their mark upon this world, which was vastly improved because they, and others like them, lived and worked and dreamed it into manifestation. How might we do the same? March is a lesson in learning to love ourselves & harmonize with others; it's about "discovering ways to align our personal rhythm and vibration with the incoming harmonizing energies in our surroundings, thoughts and emotions". We receive messages and attunements in our "waking, dreaming and meditative states, which empower expansion, vision, and the ability to express these harmonious energies regardless of the appearance of outside circumstances". Mars in Taurus helps us to find new directions, and greater ease in inviting & invoking the assistance of our angels in all areas of our daily lives. We can use music, dancing & toning to align ourselves with the harmonizing energies coming in at this time. A new moon in Pisces on March 13, brings a stellium of planets conjunct in Pisces, and another stellium of planets in Aquarius, activating a shift back into balanced energies.

March 2021 may feel somewhat 'softer' than the past two month's energies. "The Sun, Neptune and Venus in Pisces invite us to live more magically, and tune into the mysteries of life through nature, meditation, communicating with angels and guides, or finding inspiration and channeling it into what we do. The Sun's alignment with Neptune in Pisces creates a higher-vibrational energy we can tap into if we are prepared to lift our thoughts." Implicit bias in our preferences, thinking & feeling have become ingrained or institutionalized in all the systems of our society, codified into laws & regulations. Possibly we’re not even fully-conscious of the deep-rooted, learned responses we’ve assimilated. These systems disproportionately disenfranchise, oppress, criminalize & incarcerate minorities, causing great harm to our society. Bigotry is a cancer raging through our systems, but we’re empowered to excision & healing. Racism starts early; Black infant-mortality rates are twice as high as for Whites; Black women are 3 to 4 times more likely to suffer pregnancy-related deaths. We need equal access to affordable, premium healthcare for all Americans, Head-start & daycare-subsidies for working parents.
Statistics show that K-12 schools punish Black children (near 16 percent of student-body) at higher-rates than Whites, comprising near 51 percent of students nationwide. This “suspicion of guilt” follows them throughout their school years; “some schools have a troubling-practice of calling law-enforcement to discipline Black students on schoolgrounds”, creating the “school-to-prison-pipeline”, channeling students into the ‘criminal-justice’ system early, while teaching people-of-color they can expect unfair treatment. Repeated suspensions/expulsions cause spotty-learning, dropouts, lower graduation-rates, ‘unreadiness’ for college; and with the system of racial-profiling, more inclination toward arrest. Black students tend to incur more student-loan debt, and are hired at a lesser-rate.
Racist housing-policies further ‘climate-segregation’ in cities. Housing must be indexed to wages, and workers must receive a living-wage! There’s huge systemic-racism in lending, excluding Blacks from property-ownership & wealth-building. Follow the money, look at the big bankers, willing to build private FOR-PROFIT-prisons to incarcerate millions of Black-Americans. The legacies of slavery & racism more apparent in our legal-penal-system than anywhere else. “Big banks fund police foundations, and Wall Street directly profits from police brutality. We must STOP the extraction of wealth from workers” & extracting people from our communities, by over-incarceration. Whites created these systems and WE ALL need to change them NOW! We must STOP police brutality; STOP police from murdering unarmed-Blacks in our streets, by holding police fully-accountable for their recklessness & extreme-force!
Illinois’ Governor Pritzker set a progressive-example by signing the criminal justice reform bill on 2/22/21, saying “this is going to make policing safer and the public safer”. LOVE looks like JUSTICE! The change begins with ‘US’, a change in consciousness, in our hearts & minds, our speech & actions. We’re amidst a racial-reckoning; we must STOP & Self-reflect …. then act, turning things around for minority-youth, their families, our communities, for ALL OUR SAKES! Responsibility means the ability to respond, appropriately. “NO JUSTICE, NO PEACE!”

We knew it was a long-shot that enough Republican senators would do the right thing, and now that the Impeachment conviction-phase has concluded, the sorting process begins in earnest. We cannot work & cooperate with Seditionists & their accomplices. We need to assert & reestablish the progressive values for our 21st century world & government, and adhere to pruning-away those cancerous-parts which cannot be in accord with the whole. Those seeking Unity, must put their money & actions where their voices are. A confederate-flag & Nazi-flag had NEVER before entered our Capitol building, but 1/6/21 changed that fact. Our nation’s Capitol was desecrated, but NOT beyond repair. For now IS such a time as declared in Isaiah 58:12: “And they that shall be of thee shall build the old waste places; thou shalt raise up the foundations of many generations, and thou shalt be called the Repairer of the breach, Restorer of paths to dwell in.” Those who “shall be of thee”, shall join in the unity of that restoration, not a furtherance of degradation! For those paying attention, we are witnessing the demolition of The Grand Old Party, imploding & burning to the ground. What phoenix may rise from its ashes, remains to be seen. Those simply holding govt positions for naked-ego-ambition, as opposed to the common-good of America, need to be shown the door; some will be shown prison-doors.
A 28-year-old, Abraham Lincoln warned in his 1838 Lyceum address, titled “The Perpetuation of our Political Institutions”: “a tyrant could overtake the U.S. political system from within, mobs or people who disrespected U.S. laws and courts could destroy the U.S. The Constitution and Rule of Law in the U.S. are the political religion of our nation. If it ” (a destroyer) “ever reaches us, it must spring up amongst us; it cannot come from abroad. If destruction be our lot we must ourselves be its author and finisher. As a nation of freemen we must live through all time or die by suicide; …. but what invading foemen could never do, the silent artillery of time has done — the leveling of its walls.” Michael Metzger explained in his article: Silencing the Silent Artillery (undated, Clapham Institute), “the silent artillery was a collective amnesia regarding America’s most formative events” & principles. We must Awaken and end the desecration, and stalwartly rebuild, restore & revere our nation’s extraordinary principles, or lose our grand democratic-Republic! Abe gave this lecture 22 years before he became President; 23 years before The Civil War began. Far earlier, George Washington warned about emerging parties & factions that would begin to put those loyalties before their loyalty to country.

Jamie Raskin, Joe Neguse and other Democratic-House-managers are ‘hitting the ball out of the park’ in their prosecution of the second, historic Impeachment trial against former-president, Donald J. Trump. while his 3rd-rate legal-defense team is clearly ‘out of their league’. “Trump is apparently being represented by the Law Firm of Meandering & Furious”, said Paul Begala, political commentator. Bruce Castor Jr, first at bat to defend Trump, spoke in a rambling manner about …. well, it was difficult to follow. Second at bat was Atlanta-based attorney, David Schoen, who spoke vehemently, though not that coherently. Mr. Castor, at the close of the first day’s session, made remarks to the Senate that the Democratic-House-manager’s presentation was “well done” and “more effective” than he’d anticipated. Those close to Trump said that he “was screaming at his defense-attorneys”, on his TV screen. I guess you get what you pay for (if you ARE paying for it). Michael T. van der Veen, a personal-injury lawyer, is also listed as one of Trump’s new attorneys, even though van der Veen was involved in a suit against Trump last year, and later accused him of making claims about voter-fraud with “no evidence”, and is now denying that he recently called Trump “a F…ing crook”. Castor made another interesting comment on 2/9/21, seemingly suggesting that Trump should possibly have been “arrested & charged with a crime, instead of being impeached”. On 2/10/21, Fulton Co. Georgia’s District Attorney announced a criminal investigation into the harassment of election officials by Donald Trump.
The House-manager’s Impeachment trial is riveting, but some senators, such as Rubio, Cruz & Hawley appeared less than interested. They were surely less impacted by the video-footage shown of the murderous-mobs clubbing police, coming for their colleagues; not sharing the full-extent of Jan 6th terror, as they knew the mob hadn’t come for them. Trump might not pay his lawyers, but he’s surely bought himself some jurors. Look, here’s the deal: Trump summoned a mob to kill his Vice President! Trump’s end-play was to have Mike Pence killed, Speaker of the House, Pelosi, president pro tem of the Senate, VP-elect Harris & some other Congress-members killed. Then he could then have declared martial law and become dictator of the United States. That was the end-game encouraged by Michael Flynn & others. That’s how Trump would stay in power; and ALL our senators NEED to hold him accountable! Or going forth, there can be NO Unity! We cannot work & cooperate with Seditionists or their accomplices!

The NYT story that ran 1/31/21, had 7 journalist’s names on the byline, and gave the run-down on the “77 Days to Subvert the Election”: the dates & events that Donald Trump set in motion in his attempts to sow doubt on the legitimacy of the election processes, to bring bogus-lawsuits in courts, to push conspiracy-theories and to use others to conspire with him, to abuse his power of office to bully election & government officials & legislators, to promote wildly-false narratives in order to encourage contributions to fund his so-called legal arguments & to bribe organizers on his behalf, to influence his followers to believe that V.P. Pence could do otherwise than just ceremonially-announce states’ certified counts; and when all previous onslaughts failed, he sought to inflame & incite the assembled crowd to perpetrate an insurrectionary-attack on our Capitol, in order to subvert our democracy and overthrow the peaceful transfer of power, the established 224 year precedent. The incitement didn’t begin on Jan 6; it culminated on that date. Tens of thousands of Trump-followers traveled to, some bused into, D.C. for the express-purpose of “taking their country back”! That rhetoric had been used for weeks leading-up to Trump’s Jan 6th rally, “The March to Save America”. He said, “Be a part of history!” His followers answered, “We heard your call; we’re here for you!” Trump invoked, “You’ll NEVER take back our country with weakness!” It was Trump’s plan, his coup; he helped arrange & orchestrate it, and finally whipped it into the crescendo we witnessed: “American Carnage”, just as he prophesied, “It will be WILD!”
Trump basically forced DOJ, Bill Barr to resign; then Trump plotted behind the back of Acting Atty Gen, Jeffrey A. Rosen, with Acting Civil Division Chief, Jeffrey Clark & Pennsylvania Congressman Scott Perry, to threaten investigations, to pressure Georgia Secretary of State, Brad Raffensperger, to invalidate his state’s results, in order to force a new lawsuit to SCOTUS, challenging the entire election. Trump replaced top officials at the Pentagon; then refused for hours to deploy National Guard to protect our Congress during his attempted coup. Trump, the megaphone behind the murderous-hoards, excitedly watched on TV, scenes of violence from the Capitol. Trump’s ULTIMATE betrayal of his Oath of Office to Protect & Defend our country & our Constitution is OUTRAGEOUS, and can only be healed by Trump’s conviction & disqualification to ever run again for any American office! We should NEVER have to endure this HELL again!

Eight planets in fixed signs (known for their rigidtiy) this month makes for a tense time, then throw in Mercury-retrograde; but this “big planetary-alignment is occurrng in the sign of Aquarius, which suggests new beginnnings for society”. Mars & Uranus in Taurus form a tense square-aspect to Saturn & Jupiter, which can portend an electrifying response to status quo events. We began the transition from the Piscean Age to the Age of Aquarius around 2000, we saw the financial crash of 2008; we are “now fully in the transition period”, and can expect “chaos, disruption, and uncertainty, as the old age falls away”. Not in doubt: BIG CHANGES are happening! “Uranus is known as the great awakener”, and squaring up to Jupiter & Saturn, we can expect to “see increasing numbers of ordinary people waking up and questioning what is happening in society. The key is not to react with anger or violence. Awakened people simply need to go about their business, knowing that the darkness swamping the light is largely an illusion and cannot hold for much longer.” We need to hold the vision we want to see — for ourselves, our nation and our planet — in our mind’s eye, sending it loving energy, to bring it into fruition.
We all have “a choice between acting recklessly and working toward progressive and creative change”. The fixed signs (Taurus, Leo, Scorpio & Aquarius), especially, “are being tested and need to hold the tension of opposites”. Instead of acting impulsively, we can count to ten, rethink our impulsive tendencies and choose a wiser course of action, of kinder words. We are all being tested this month, financially, emotionally, mentally, spiritually, and we can expect tests of our integrity, our priorities & commitments. Are we fit for the evolving New Earth? We can take these opportunities “to balance our karma and cleanse ourselves of lower dense energies to match the rising vibration of Earth”. We must make it a priority to ‘restock our toolboxes’, with the new tools for a New Age, and begin using them NOW! “We can enlist the support of healers of all types, choose nourishing meals, spend time in nature & with the people who love and support us; spending less time in front of screens & gadgets” that can zap our energies, straining “our nervous systems and increasing depression”. We can begin asking our angels to assist us in all ways, to protect and guide us. Invest 5 or 10 minutes a day in quietude, listening for guidance, gradually extend your time of solace to 15 or 20 minues. Keep in mind we’re being tested as the month progresses, and choose the actions and behaviors that assist us in remaining positive, patient, and more relaxed. Make time for simple pleasures and try thinking outside the box. “Aquarius is a revolutionary sign and Uranus squaring Saturn pushes us to think differently.” We might ask ourselves: “how can I approach this situation differently? How can I change my thinking to better thrive & flourish? Where do I have a tendency to be rigid in thoughts & beliefs? When am I inclined to slide toward negative assumptions? If I think differently, can I raise my consciousness on this matter to a higher level? If I need to solve a problem, can I approach it from a different angle or ask for the opinion or wisdom of someone I value? Can I be more creative in my thinking? Collectively we are being asked to raise our thinking so we can transition to this new age with greater ease, but it starts with us as individuals. We need to each illuminate & heal our shadows”, so we can in greater wholeness, join in helping humanity heal.

“February 2021 begins with Mercury retrograde in the harmonizing sign of Aquarius; the retrograde ends Feb 21st, though the effects will be felt until the New Moon in Pisces on March 13th, when Mercury returns to its original point of beginning retrograde. Beings from all dimensions & spaces will be bringing wisdom, truth and guidance regarding the wise use of energies in attaining and maintaining balanced reciprocity within and without. Toning, drumming, power of the word will carry stronger activations when aligned congruently — and devoid of ego — with the soul-heart’s guidance, love and destiny. A domestic-terrorism alert was released 1/27/21, by our Homeland Security dept, warning US that we’re under a “heightened-threat-environment, from ideologically-motivated, violent-extremists with objections to the exercise of government authority and the presidential-transition, that is likely to persist over the coming weeks. These extremists also feel perceived-grievances fueled by false narratives.” A warning against fellow-Americans! Many legislators, their families & others have been under death threats for months from these extremists; these threats have increased. Biden, on 1/7/21, said, “What we witnessed yesterday was not dissent, not disorder, it was chaos; a riotist-mob, insurrectionists, domestic terrorists”. On 1/26/21, Senate-majority-leader Schumer introduced the second set of Impeachment articles on former-president, Donald Trump. Senator Rand Paul objected to the proceeding as unconstitutional, a vote followed: 45 Republican senators voted the proceeding to be unconstitutional; 5 Republicans voted with 50 Democrat senators that the proceeding is constitutional. It is, it has precedent, the trial will begin week of Feb 8th. The Republicans want us to “let it all go”, some protesting that no witnesses will be presented, but everyone in the Capitol building on 1/6/21 were eye-witnesses to the Insurrectionist-attack, were victims of that day’s terror. Representative Kevin McCarthy is supposedly “going to have a talk” with representative Marjorie Taylor Greene, who is a caustic, deranged, gun-toting, QAnazi, dangerous member of Congress, who has called for executions of certain democrats. However, McCarthy gave her a Congressional committee-assignment, on the Education Committee! Read up on her. What can de done about these very high-profile individuals with dangerous worldviews in our own government? The FBI has discovered deeply-entrentched radicalization, planning, organizing, funding activities, and have arrested several hundred people in the last weeks, some former-military members! “Deradicalization, repeated exposure to the truth, to reality, is a monumental challenge that must be undertaken. We cannot be ambivalent! We cannot negotiate or work with terrorists”, said Frank Figliuzzi, former FBI official. It has been stated that Abraham Lincoln was faced with the Civil War, Woodrow Wilson, a global pandemic, FDR, the Great Depression, JFK, the Cold War, LBJ, extreme civil-racial-strife, Obama, the Great Recession. Now Joseph R. Biden, 46th president of the U.S, faces all of the above! Reconstruction is underway. The backlash continues. March is a lesson in learning to love ourselves and harmonize with others; it’s about “discovering ways to align our personal rhythms and vibration with the incoming harmonizing energies in our surroundings, thoughts and emotions”. We receive messages & attunements in our “waking, dreaming and meditative states, which empower expansion, vision, and the ability to express these harmonious energies regardless of the appearance of outside circumstances”. We can use music, dancing & toning to align ourselves with the harmonizing energies coming in at this time.
