A grand cross exists for most of June in Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius and Pisces. A new moon in Gemini starts off the month, “forming one part of the cross while Jupiter, Saturn and Neptune form the other three points”. Venus, aligning with the Sun and Moon makes this “Venusian new moon”, starting around June 5th, a time for us to acknowledge what isn’t working, to let go and “bring our focus back to what we love”. We may need to ask ourselves, “Do you love whatever person, situation, project or place that seems to be causing you difficulty? Is your heart in it? When your heart isn’t in something, it can be futile to try to make it work. Stop struggling and accept what is. It may be the only way forward during this first week of June.” LET IT GO! During the second week “the grand cross dissolves temporarily, leaving Saturn, Neptune and Jupiter to continue their T-square alignment”. When trying to decide if we really want to be in a particular situation, we may feel embattled, “overloaded and worried”. “A Venus-Sun conjunction encourages us to enjoy ourselves — Life isn’t all about work, duty and responsibility”; we need to carve out time for relaxing and having fun! For the air signs, especially Gemini, this is a good time to “indulge our senses in the joys” of Life — to explore our creativity, to let our hair down and dance! Make art, make music, make love — Venus invites us to CAVORT! “The full moon on June 20th occurs at the very end of Sagittarius at 29 degrees, and a full moon at the last degree of a sign would suggest that something is due to come to a close, so this could be a time of completion for many” — possibly the end of a job or relationship , but it could signal the end of how we view and participate in our lives — “a way of being, seeing or believing”. We can break free of old, imprisoning thought models! Possibly we’ve been viewing some things we do as duties — when we’ve forgotten or lost track of our passion for it — why we began doing it in the first place. Maybe it’s time to REFRAME it? This full moon season we are ripe to seek to set an AUTHENTIC INTENTION! Is this a situation that no longer serves you? If so — BREAK FREE!! Or rediscover your passion for what you’re doing. “Follow the path of love — when we do what we love or when we perform an action with love — everyone wins.” As the month ends the grand cross begins to fade — and we begin to settle into our new vision of ourselves. “The ongoing T-square with Neptune, Saturn and Jupiter, the nodes and Chiron, suggests that we have some healing to do in terms of our destinies.” What WAS right for us — may — no longer be. Our new intention may include acknowledging what we need to change and gathering the courage to REALIZE the changes. “We must be kind and gentle with ourselves and each other” as we come to these new realizations, emerging WITH PASSION into a new life — a NEW YOU!

Should utility tax money be used to upgrade Armory?
I’m in agreement that the city should use about a third of the bond money proceeds to renovate the Armory. I agree with Jeremy Karlin’s assessment that the utility tax bond proceeds should be used for worthy capital projects as well as for street and sidewalk repairs, and work should begin soon. As Duane Oldfield, Knox professor said, “The city should turn it into a valuable space rather than let it decay”; there are awesome opportunities for spacious community events to be held there. I agree with Peter Schwartzman that “savings in utility costs could be achieved by installing solar panels on the roof of the Armory building”, and that community outreach meals could be served in the community kitchen/dining room that would be a part of the grand new “Galesburg Community Center” building.
