iGaming

The question is really “when”, not “if”.  Our world is changing at a surprising rate of speed mainly due to the technologies available to us, the increasing integration of those technologies, and their “user-friendliness”.  Our nation’s youth are growing up playing games on computers,  smartphones and interactive television, and this trend is growing exponentially.   Are we going to prosecute illegal gaming, or legalize and tax it?        Is there sufficient political will to enforce prohibition?  I  agree that we shouldn’t rush these iGaming bills through, as there are many valid concerns regarding regulations and potentials for fraud.  As Illinois is looking for revenues can we be sure to designate those profits for paying pensions and for education costs?   Or will those funds get spent elsewhere as before? State employees paid in their contributions;  the state didn’t pay their share, hence the pension problem. Which industry can we trust to regulate online gambling?
